What is the best OCR software? Searching for a free document scanning ocr? Free OCR software?

Free OCR is a simple OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software for recognizing text in an image , for instant converting books into digital format. Nowadays the Ebook readers and online readers are high so there many scope for data conversion works. In a Recent survey Amazon.com and Sony.com found a rise in their sales of Pdfs as there are digital Ebook readers. And thus there are many people who prefer using ebooks. These websites require OCR to grab the text from the image format and convert them to Text. Here the OCR plays important role. The are many OCR’s Available but Tesseract is the best OCR in all ways.Unlike OmniPage 16 which cost a bomb, Tesseract OCR engine also known as Google OCR was one of the top 3 engines in the 1995 UNLV Accuracy test. The OCR scanner technology was put to test in scanning millions and millions of books found in Google Books. This goes to show the reliability and accuracy of Tesseract OCR engine, and the best part is, its Free!,

The Main concern while choosing a OCR is to check whether there is no spelling errors detected while being converted to word from Pdf files.

Main Things That you Should consider while using a OCR is

*The Processor Speed should be P4  2.0 GHZ

*Atleast 256MB RAM

*And do not run any other process at background because it reduces the performance of OCR

*Mostly OCR’s are acurate only when we convert the Images by zoning them manually.

*If a error occurs while analysing a Pdf File in a page just recogonize & save upto the analyzed page. Then skip the page and analyse from next page but this error occurs only in few OCRs like Read IRIS. In ABBYY fine Reader it just skips the page and goes on.

Features of  ABBYY Fine Reader 8.0

1.In data conversion process (Pdf to Doc),It recogonizes even blurred or unclear letters from the pdf.

2.Abbyy fine reader 8.0 is a light weight process(not abbyy finereader 9.0)

4.It allows you to save each page in a separate file.
